Up to 35,000 DOE

Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm

We're working with a well–established freight forwarder in the Lichfield area who are looking to add an experienced Ocean Freight Forwarder to their growing team. This role is ideal for someone confident in export operations, with knowledge of imports being a real advantage.

What you'll be doing

Manage end–to–end ocean export shipments, including booking, documentation, carrier liaison, and compliance.

Handle key milestones from origin to destination, ensuring all deadlines and client requirements are met.

Prepare and process Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, export declarations, and all relevant shipping documents.

Communicate daily with carriers, overseas agents, hauliers, and customers to keep shipments on track.

Support with import operations when required – a bonus but not essential.

Provide excellent customer service, keeping clients updated throughout the shipment lifecycle.

Resolve any issues or delays proactively, maintaining strong relationships with partners and customers.

What we're looking for

Experience in ocean freight forwarding,for a UK based freight forwarder.

Understanding of export customs processes and global shipping procedures.

Imports knowledge is beneficial but not mandatory.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs at once.

Confident communicator who enjoys working in a close–knit team.

Familiarity with freight software / systems.
