Description

Our client, a leading international logistics and transport solutions provider with over 30 years of industry expertise, is seeking an experienced Imports Customs Manager to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, hands-on leader with strong customs knowledge to oversee the import process, ensure compliance, and manage a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, motivate and develop the import & customs team (4 staff).Oversee and process customs clearances (CDS) for courier and cargo shipments across multiple UK airports.Act as the main point of contact for customs queries from clients, HMRC, and internal teams.Ensure accurate HS code classification, valuation, and origin declarations.Manage customs systems (Sequoia, CNS, CDS) and internal job/billing processes (Boxtop).Maintain compliance with HMRC procedures and stay updated on legislation changes.Handle low-value bulk clearance (BIRDS) and high-value imports.Reconcile Deferment and FAS accounts.Key Skills

Previous experience in import customs management within courier or freight forwarding.Proficient with Descartes (e-Customs), ASM Sequoia, CNS, CDS, and ETSF procedures.Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team.Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure.Flexible, proactive approach with excellent communication skills.Desirable:
