Transport General Manager

Location: Leicestershire

Salary: Up to GBP60,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am 5:00pm

We are seeking an experienced and driven Transport General Manager to lead the operations of a busy and growing transport function in Leicestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a well–established team, ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost–effective service delivery across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day–to–day transport operations, ensuring optimal use of resources and meeting service requirements Lead, coach, and develop a team of transport and logistics staff, fostering a high–performance culture Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, including Operator Licence obligations, drivers hours, and vehicle maintenance standards Manage budgets, monitor KPIs, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers Oversee fleet management, ensuring vehicles are maintained, serviced, and fit for purpose Drive continuous improvement across all transport processes and systems Skills & Experience Required:

Proven experience in a senior transport management role Strong understanding of transport legislation and compliance requirements CPC qualification (National or International) is highly desirable Excellent leadership and people management skills Strong organisational, problem–solving, and decision–making abilities Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and performance metrics What We Offer:
