27 July 2024 Myles Maguire laid artificial grass in my back yard. He said weeds wouldn’t come back and I took him at his word. But his word meant nothing. Weeds are growing again, large and prolific. He said he used weedkiller, which ‘should have worked’. It didn’t. After a nine months delay he came to look. He said the job was out of warranty. That excuse didn’t work either. He said he had followed ‘specifications’ and I must have stronger weeds than normal, so it was my fault and would cost ‘about two grand’ to redo with ‘industrial underlay’, (and presumably stronger weedkiller.) I’ve never seen weeds come through artificial grass before. It also wasn’t nailed down properly, and strong winds blew it off. I haven’t seen that anywhere else either. A reputable company would fix it at their own expense. They probably would’ve done it properly in the first place. But Myles Maguire isn’t reputable. When I declined to pay an extra ‘two grand’ he walked away from his botched job, leaving me to clean up the mess, which is ongoing. I originally paid £5000 for grass and a fence, but no guarantee. Beware of MM.
