2001 Discovery 2 V8 4.0 auto, XS with cruise control and half suede seats. 109k miles. I’ve owned it for over 10 years and 40 odd thousand miles. MOT till end of March and all ready for the winter. Both keys present, work and are in good nick. Recent Cooper tyres and battery, converted from air bags to coils this year (it’s +2” over standard ride height) plus new dampers and rear brakes, ace system removed and replaced with solid arb so it’s now all very much simpler. All changes have been corrected in the ECU so there’s no warning light nonsense. Regularly used in low range, never had any gearbox or driveline issues. Range Rover wheels, heavy duty tow bar and electrics, sunroofs sealed up etc. All gauges, switches, locks, instruments etc. work fine, cassette player doesn’t work but radio does. Seats & interior are in decent order save a small tear on the side of the drivers seat. It has a few things like light guards, rear ladder, running boards etc fitted. It was a 7 seater, the two seats in the boot area have long been removed. Chassis is solid and has been welded once or twice, has been rustproofed and waxoyled at least three times in my ownership but it does need a clean up and doing again. The exhaust is pretty old. The windscreen has a crack at the drivers side lower corner. Engine is quiet and smooth, it loses a little coolant externally, has done so all the time I’ve owned it but it never gets any worse and is perfectly manageable, all it takes is a wee top up now and again. It’s a fairly common V8 issue and I stress is external ie no oil in water or vice versa. It’s an old truck and shows and feels it’s age in places, but is still a great reliable wagon, unstoppable in snow, and I’d take it the length of the country tomorrow if I had to. It has a pile of bills and service history and has been super reliable which is why I’ve held on to it. Only selling as I’ve bought a D4.
