Contract: Full-time, 9-Month Temporary Contract

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 5 days per week

About the Role Our Client is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to provide strategic financial support within Adult Social Care (ASC). This is a key interim opportunity to influence decision-making at a senior level, drive service efficiencies, and ensure robust financial management in a dynamic and complex public sector environment.

This role is ideal for a proactive finance professional who can interpret and analyse financial results, provide insightful advice to stakeholders, and support evidence-based decisions across the directorate. You’ll work collaboratively with senior managers, Service Directors, and Members to influence strategy, improve value for money, and support transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, insightful financial advice and support to senior stakeholders across ASC.

Partner with Service Directors to manage financial performance, pricing strategies, and investment planning.

Lead the preparation and analysis of robust business cases, assessing costs, benefits, risks, and funding solutions.

Produce timely and accurate financial modelling, forecasts, and performance reports.

Contribute to strategic decision-making by interpreting complex data and presenting clear options.

Promote value for money and cost-efficiency through benchmarking and trend analysis.

Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.

Collaborate on cross-organisational projects, embedding commercial thinking and financial rigour. What We’re Looking For Essential:

Fully qualified accountant (CCAB, CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA, ACA) with evidence of ongoing CPD.

Proven experience across the full financial cycle, ideally within a public sector setting.

Strong analytical and modelling skills, with a track record of advising senior leadership.

Excellent communication and influencing skills, with awareness of the political and operational landscape.

Ability to challenge constructively and contribute to strategic discussions. Desirable:

Experience supporting Adult Social Care or similar people-focused services.

Evidence of process improvement and system development in finance functions.

Demonstrated credibility and contribution within multi-disciplinary teams. As one of the UK’s largest and most ambitious local authorities, our client is committed to delivering better quality services at lower cost. You’ll be part of a high-performing, forward-thinking organisation, contributing to meaningful public outcomes. With flexible working options and a collaborative culture, this is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact.

Recruitment is done in line with safe recruitment practices. 4Recruitment Services is an equal opportunities employer.
