Shared Service Manager – Systems, Support and Control - Revenues & Benefits

Contract

£28.31 per hour PAYE or £36.34 per hour limited paid via umbrella company inside IR35

Our client is looking for an experienced Shared Service Manager – Systems, Support and Control - Revenues & Benefits.

To ensure the efficient and effective running of the Benefits and Revenues functions for the shared service, including all aspects of system administration across all IT systems and equipment, customer interface through visiting officers, inspectors and customer support staff and, Home worker liaison

· Ensuring that all performance targets are achieved

· To ensure all matters in respect of reconciliations, the management of creditors/debtors modules, checking, integrity and security of the systems are maintained at all times

· To lead the year end/annual updating process, including compiling timetables and installation of software releases ensuring that time sensitive tasks are completed by the deadlines

· To ensure users are provided with appropriate systems access and control , managing new and existing users, the maintenance of daily, periodic and adhoc reports required by the Shared Service, as well as archive management ·

To control the IT systems ensuring their efficient running including;

setting up new processes, updating parameters, scheduler and job management, and all system housekeeping requirements including printers and designs are maintained

· To ensure provision of and carry out routine testing of disaster recovery procedures

· To control system issue resolution and development with software suppliers and internal IT support providers, including the testing and roll out of new technology and the co-ordination of new release testing ·

Ensure system and procedure compliance with data protection, gov connect (and similar)

· Control DTA, SPOC, CIS, Gov connect, Gov gateway and similar · Use appropriate data extraction tools to provide data as required · Ensure the provision of an effective visiting and inspection service to the communities of the shared service · Ensure the provision of appropriate front facing customer support service at each relevant site, telephony and back office support to each team

· To participate in the identification, delivery and review of your own personal training and development needs and too attend any courses, seminars, workshops applicable to the post as and when required

Knowledge · At least five year’s relevant management experience in Revenues/Benefits · Experience in a similar environment. · Experience of using Revenues and Housing/ Council Tax Benefit software. · Ability to understand and relay complex information clearly in relation to Benefits, Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates verbally and in writing. · Ability to make decisions in relation to Revenues and Benefits relating to benefits, liability, payment arrangements and recovery procedures etc. as appropriate. · Ability and willingness to help support and provide guidance, support and advice to less experienced staff. · Relevant legislative knowledge. · Knowledge of Windows based office package.
