Toying with the idea of selling my lovely 1988 sh50/city express, she has an advisory free MOT. I’ve had this bike a little while now and it’s been absolutely bulletproof in my ownership, I daily rode this for nearly 2 months whilst my triumph was off the road, and not long ago did the Peak District and she didn’t skip a beat up snake pass, winnits pass and all the rest.

When I bought the bike she’d been found in the bottom of a garden and was a non runner. I did a very extensive tear down and rebuild, not exactly a nut and bolt rebuild but it included:
New front and rear brake shoes and both mechanisms disassembled, ultrasonic cleaned and rebuilt.

Complete carburettor rebuild, ultrasonic cleaned and blown out with compressed air, new vacuum fuel tap, all new fuel/vacuum/oil lines.

Every body panel deep cleaned and polished, even managed to source a COMPLETELY intact leg shield (find another one, you won’t!) intact seat off of one of my donor bikes.

Wiring harness completely cleaned and new bulbs all around. Everything works as it should. New battery so electric start works as it should.

I’m in no rush to sell so please don’t make me any silly offers, she costs me nothing to store so daft offers will not be entertained. I’m only considering selling as I’m now a student and have 2 more bikes that are occupying my attention.

She starts 2nd or 3rd kick, I expect the spark plug may be fouled as she was running rich for a while. If I get around to it I’ll clean/replace the plug but in truth I haven’t used her in a while.
