Honda CBR900RR-X Fireblade

1999 FireBlade in extremely good original condition.
Miles 35 983 as of pictures this summer, will increase with occasional use / short trips

Garaged, and rarely ridden in the wet.

All original parts including original Honda exhaust / silencer, indicators, levers, mirrors etc.

The few minor modifications this bike has are as follows:

* Aluminium adjustable footpegs in red (Shinobi / M-Factory) The original Honda pegs will be supplied, with some other spares.

* Rear hugger by Pyramid, colour matched.

* Upgraded braided brake lines front and rear, in red (Hel)

* R&G crash protectors / frame sliders

* Oxford Fat Grips

* Fabbri tinted screen

* Puig handlebar ends


The rear suspension has been professionally rebuilt by the previous owner in 2016 with Showa parts, and performs incredibly well. The stock rear suspension on these ‘Blades are notorious for being bit shit, so this is a crucial upgrade.

New battery and new reg/rec fitted winter 2024

Rear tyre is Michelin Pilot Power 2CT and nearly new - only done a few hundred miles.
Front tyre is Avon with plenty of life left.

Carbs were cleaned / balanced by the previous owner and the engine runs beautifully. I’ve not had to do anything with the carbs in the last 3 years.

Fresh oil and filter - fitted at 35 775 miles

Service receipts dating back to 2004.

Battery tender attached and accessible via the “lunchbox” under the pillion seat.

The bike starts and runs exactly as it should, and is still outrageously fast, despite being 25 years old. Gear changes are smooth and accurate. Steering is very light and nimble, the bike runs on the original 16” front. Mechanically excellent condition.



Some cosmetic / age related marks - all pictured as accurately as possible.

Small indentation on the top nearside side fuel tank, I imagine it could easily be repaired by a bodyworker. This indent was present when I bought the bike - it’s never bothered me enough to have it repaired. Weirdly the paint is undamaged. It’s just a thumb size concave.

Minor crack on fairing near the crash protector. I carefully drilled a 2mm hole to prevent further cracking.

Some light scuffing on the right hand (offside) exhaust and crankcase - some other typical age-related marks here and there.

My local mechanic always sings the praises of this bike when I take it in for it’s MOT - the bearings are all tight, the frame is true, suspension is nicely set up for a fairly sporty ride. It’s been very well looked after both by me, and more importantly, the previous owner who was a gifted mechanic and took great care over it.

I’ve owned this bike since Dec 2021, but recently doing no more than a thousand miles a year on it, and increasingly I reach for my other bike, a VFR800FI which is more practical and well-suited to riding to work. Also planning to move house, and need to make space.

I love this bike dearly. It’s been a privilege to look after her for a few years, but it is now time she found a new owner who will ride her properly.

It’s rare to find an RR-X in such healthy, unmolested condition with all original parts. I will certainly be holding out for the right price, and won’t consider offers unless they are close to my price.
