True Vintage/ Collectors 1960’s, rare, “Trend” bookends x 4 in original box!
The 4 x bookends sculptured in satin alloy and are blue on one side and white on the other. Modern, minimalist and poppy! Designed to fit a variety of shelf thicknesses - easily slip on with no screwing or fixing required. Made in England, Staffs. by Smith & Davis Ltd., Wednesdbury. I have not come across another set like this. Dims: H20cm, total width at the bookend slip end is 16 cm, width of decorative oval insert is 11 cm
These bookends are in vintage - not perfect - condition, but have been kept in the original box for at least 30 years. There is an original remnant of a price label that has been rubbed off and a sticker stating “blue and white 5520” that has come loose on the box but is kept with the bookends inside. I believe 5520 could be the catalogue or design registry number.
One of the bookends has head one of the black mushroom pins come off but it does not impair on the function or look. It is included in the box and may be glued on by a little skillful attention.
Collection preferred to view and handover but will consider posting.
