I have for sale a very nice piece of history here and if you’re a titanic fan, well this will put a smile on your face.
This is an original edition of the daily mirror newspaper, dated April 16th 1912, the day after she sank.
I want to envisise, that this is an original 16 page edition, not some copy or re-issue. Just to look at it tells you that, as like all very old newspapers, it’s turned brown with age.
Condition wise, it’s incredible, considering this newspaper is 112 years old and not a tear in it anywhere, I bet you cannot say that, about to many newspapers that are still around as old as this one.
As to we’re I got it, I do house clearances and along with four other rather rare newspapers, which I will mention briefly about, this was one of them. The others are Queen Victorias death 1901, Edward the Vlll abdication 1936, V E - DAY 1945 and the Kennedy Assignation 1963, all will be going up for sale and like the titanic newspaper, all original editions, these are also in exceptional condition for there age.
Now I do know for a fact, that one of these daily mirror editions, was valued at 6.000 pound, about a year ago, some chap up north had an original one and in rather nice condition. I saw it on online, with a very interesting written article about it
So I think if I was to ask 1500 pound for this one, that would be an exceptional price, for something so prestige and like all titanic memorabilia, it has a big following.
Now I am happy for anyone who is really interested in buying this from me to come and take a look at it first, but please understand I am not going to tolerate any time wasters or someone, who comes to see it thinking they are reading the Sunday newspaper. If you don’t have any real genuine interest or more to the point the money to purchase this, then don’t even enquire as I wont waste my time with you, which can be better spent with real interested cliental.
That just leaves me to say, good luck to the new owner if it gets sold, as you will be adding a very nice piece of titanic memorabilia to your collection.
