We are urgently looking for an experienced Locum Substance Misuse/Detox Nurse (RMN or RGN) to join our client's team in Walsall, West Midlands.Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week) Dates: early December-3 months (Temporary Contract, will be reviewed after 3 months) Pay Rate: between GBP34 to GBP39/hr PAYE or umbrella (no limited companies)Your new roleUndertake physical and mental health assessments for service users and ensure appropriate sign posting/referral to primary care or appropriate secondary health care services for identified health issues.To undertake Nurse Alcohol Assessments and determine safe detoxificationFibroscanningTo deliver Buvidal clinics (long-acting Buprenorphine injections)Assist in the titration process for opiate service users.To provide screening for BBV, through dry blood spot testing and support to access Hep C treatmentTo provide Hepatitis B vaccinations when needed.Offer wound care assessment and basic wound dressing to service users.Essential Qualifications and ExperienceCurrent NMC registrationSound and demonstrable knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventionsPrevious experience in a similar role at a Drug Treatment service, Forensic, Prison or other similar backgroundStrong communication and teamwork skills.
