Role: School Support Worker

Location: Reddish Hall School, Stockport SK5 6UY

Salary: GBP20,906.25 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

Start Date: November 2025

About the Role

As a School Support Worker, you'll work closely with teachers and other professionals to support students both in and outside the classroom. You'll provide tailored support to help pupils access learning, develop social skills, and manage their emotions and behaviour effectively.

You'll be a key figure in the lives of the young people you support - someone they can rely on, trust, and grow with.

Kay Responsibilities:

Support pupils in the classroom to access learning in line with their individual needsEncourage and support students to reach their full potentialAssist in the development of students' social, emotional, and behavioural skillsMonitor and support students' academic and personal progressBuild positive, professional relationships with pupils based on trust and consistencyWork in partnership with teaching staff and the wider school teamHelp create a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environmentWho we are looking for:

Essential Requirements:

GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English - Grade C / 4 or aboveA genuine interest in supporting children with additional needsThe ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staffA proactive, flexible, and team-oriented attitudeDesirable:

Previous experience working in a school or SEN environmentTraining or knowledge in areas such as autism, SEMH, or trauma-informed practiceA willingness to learn and undertake further trainingAbout Us

Reddish Hall School is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 5 to 18, catering for pupils with social emotional and mental health difficulties, with a high proportion of pupils who have a diagnosis of ASC. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.
