Position: Pastoral Support Worker

Location: Westminster

Contract: Full–time, long–term role

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Pastoral Support Worker to join a thriving secondary school in Westminster. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development of students, including those with additional needs, and to help create a positive and inclusive school environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work directly with pupils who require additional pastoral care, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those experiencing barriers to learning.

Provide one–to–one mentoring and small group interventions focused on behaviour management, emotional wellbeing, and social skills.

Support SEN provision by working alongside the SENCO, ensuring that students with EHCPs and identified needs receive tailored support.

Monitor attendance, punctuality, and engagement, and implement strategies to encourage positive outcomes.

Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to build a strong support network around each student.

Help to implement restorative approaches and behaviour management strategies across the school.

Contribute to safeguarding processes by reporting concerns and maintaining accurate records.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Previous experience in a pastoral, youth work, mentoring, or SEN support role.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly with young people.

Patience, resilience, and a calm approach to managing challenging behaviour.

Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and behaviour management practices.

Training or qualifications in youth work, counselling, or SEN support are desirable but not essential.

Benefits of Working with Us:

Competitive weekly pay.

A dedicated consultant to guide and support you throughout your placement.

Opportunities to secure further long–term and permanent roles.

Ongoing CPD and training to develop your pastoral and SEN support skills.

The chance to play a key role in supporting young people's wellbeing and educational journey.

How to Apply:

If you are passionate about making a difference as a Pastoral Support Worker and available to start immediately, apply today with your CV. Our team will be in touch to discuss the role further.
