General Facilities Assistant

The Edenfield Centre, Prestwich M25 3BL

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust

30 hours per week (6-hour shifts, 5 shifts over 7 days on varying rota)

Core hours Monday – Friday 08.00-19.00 & Weekends 10.00-18.00

All applicants MUST be able to work any 6 hour shift between these core hours any day of the week.

Band 2: Weekdays £12.51/hr, Saturdays £17.64/hr & Sundays/Bank Holidays £22.90/hr

About the Role

As a General Facilities Assistant, you’ll contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the Edenfield Centre by supporting a variety of non-clinical functions. Your role will help maintain a safe, clean, and well-organised environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities will vary and may include:

* General site support including movement of items, equipment and materials.

* Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across designated areas.

* Assisting in the safe and secure operation of site access points and perimeter areas.

* Carrying out basic checks and reporting any issues in relation to building facilities or equipment.

* Ensuring health and safety procedures and Trust guidelines are followed at all times.

* Undertaking duties as directed, with a flexible and proactive approach to service needs.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, adaptable, and able to work well both independently and as part of a wider team. You should be comfortable undertaking a range of practical tasks and responding to changing priorities throughout the day.

Essential qualities and experience include:

* Good communication skills.

* A practical and flexible approach to work.

* Able to carry out duties requiring moderate physical activity.

* Willingness to learn and follow workplace procedures and guidelines.

* Awareness of general safety and cleanliness standards in a working environment.

* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different teams.

* A positive approach to attendance and timekeeping.
