Are you an experienced Data Analyst looking to support evidence-led decision making within a leading local authority? We’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join a Data & Insight team based in Bristol on a temporary basis. THE ROLE

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality analytics and insight that directly inform strategic planning and corporate decision-making across the council.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop data reports and insight tools, primarily using Business Objects

Support senior leadership with evidence-based performance planning

Collaborate with council services to understand and translate data requirements

Provide insight through data modelling, trend analysis, and visualisation

Deliver statutory data returns to central government and external agencies

Ensure data products are user-focused, accessible, and aligned with council priorities

Drive innovation in data governance, sourcing, and reporting methodsTHE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar data analysis role within a public sector or complex organisation.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven experience using Business Objects or similar data reporting tools

Strong understanding of data analysis techniques and performance metrics

Ability to communicate complex data clearly to non-technical stakeholders

Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities

Understanding of statutory reporting and GDPR/data governance principlesTHE CONTRACT

Working Hours: Full Time Monday – Friday

Length of Contract: 3-Month Contract, Temporary

Rate: £22.00 per hour LTD company rate / £18.88 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday)

This is a hybrid role, primarily home-based with occasional in-office attendance (approx. 2 days per week, flexibility available) HOW TO APPLY
