Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager to work in a Residental care home in Sandiacre.
Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in the day–to–day management of the home, ensuring residents receive the highest standards of care, support and dignity.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager with the overall day–to–day running of the home. Lead, motivate and supervise the care team, promoting high standards of practice. Ensure residents receive safe, person–centred care that meets their individual needs and preferences. Assist with care planning, reviews, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures. Monitor the quality of care and ensure policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are followed. Support staff with training, development, supervision and performance management. Assist with staff rotas and ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained. Communicate effectively with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and other external agencies. Respond appropriately to incidents, concerns and complaints and ensure these are recorded and managed effectively. Maintain accurate care records and ensure documentation is completed to a high standard. Support medication management and health and safety procedures in line with company policies. Take responsibility for the home in the absence of the Registered Manager. Promote a positive, respectful and inclusive culture throughout the home. We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working within a residential care or similar care environment. Has previous supervisory or management experience, or is ready to take the next step in their career. Has excellent communication and leadership skills. Is organised, reliable and able to remain calm under pressure. Has a genuine passion for supporting older people and/or vulnerable adults. Understands the importance of safeguarding, dignity, confidentiality and person–centred care. Can work effectively as part of a team while also taking initiative and making decisions. Is committed to maintaining high standards of care and compliance. Relevant qualifications in Health & Social Care and/or a relevant management qualification are desirable. Experience of working within a regulated care environment is also advantageous.
