7.5 Tonne Driver – Waste & Recycling (Barnsley)

Location: Barnsley

Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour (PAYE)

Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 6:45am – 5:25pm (40 hours per week)

About the Role:

SWIFT Temps Ltd is currently recruiting a reliable and experienced 7.5 Tonne Driver to support the Waste & Recycling operations for the local authority in Barnsley. This role offers stable, full-time work over a structured four-day working week.

As part of the waste team, you’ll be responsible for the safe and timely collection of commercial waste bins and bulky household waste across various routes in the Barnsley area.

Key Responsibilities:

* Drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle for waste and recycling collections

* Collect commercial bins and bulky household waste from residential and commercial locations

* Support or work alongside loaders when required

* Carry out manual handling tasks in all weather conditions

* Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects

* Ensure compliance with health & safety and local authority procedures

Requirements:

* Full UK driving licence with C1 category (7.5 tonne entitlement)

* Valid CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph card

* No more than 6 penalty points

* Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks

* Experience in waste collection or a similar environment is beneficial
