Harley-Davidson, Inc. is an American motorcycle manufacturer headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Founded in 1903, it is one of two major American motorcycle manufacturers to survive the Great Depression. Harley-Davidson is noted for a style of customisation that gave rise to the chopper motorcycle style. The company traditionally marketed heavyweight, air-cooled cruiser motorcycles with engine displacements greater than 700cc. The classic Harley-Davidson engines are V-twin engines, with a 45° angle between the cylinders. The crankshaft has a single pin, and both pistons are connected to this pin through their connecting rods. This 45° angle is covered under several United States patents and is an engineering trade-off that allows a large, high-torque engine in a relatively small space. It causes the cylinders to fire at uneven intervals and produces the choppy sound so strongly linked to the Harley-Davidson brand. The touring family, also known as "dressers" or "baggers", includes Road King, Road Glide, Electra Glide and Street Glide models offered in various trims. The Road Kings have a ‘retro cruiser’ appearance and are equipped with a large clear windshield. Road Kings are reminiscent of big-twin models from the 1940s and 1950s.

This particular bike has come from a local vendor who has owned it for the last 2 years. It has had a vast amount of money spent on it over the years, in particular on the engine and gearbox with the fitment of a Procharger supercharger and intercooler, Baker 6-speed overdrive, Rinehart exhausts, Screaming Eagle air filer kit, oil pressure kit, and uprated pistons and value springs. It also has full Harley Davidson luggage with an interchangeable rear top box / rack, extended lighting kit, highway pegs, front and rear running boards, chrome disc covers, and engine bars. There is a large file of paperwork to back up the engine work and the bike really needs to be viewed to be appreciated. One thing is for sure, if you turn up at your local bike meeting it’s unlikely there would be another one there.
