Description
Vox AC30 in amazing condition for its age. (These were made between 2004-2009 apparently.) Has the upgraded Celestion Alnico Blue speakers. Never gigged by me, and probably not by the previous owner either, judging by the condition. Sounds fantastic.
Only issue is that the range of the master volume seems to be concentrated in the first 25% or so of the sweep of the pot. (If you image it as a clock, there doesn't seem to be that much difference in volume between 10am and 4pm.) You can still get the full range of possible volumes, from bedroom level up, you just need to be more precise with where you place it in that first quarter. The tremolo also seems a tad noisy when it's on full whack too, but this might be normal — I've never played through another one of these to compare. You really don't need to turn it up that high to get the effect, but I thought I should mention it.
Neither of these issues affect the functionality or sound of the amp, but it could probably use a service to get it from 95% to 100% perfect, so I've factored that into the price. New cost for the modern equivalent (with worse spec) is £1600, so this is a great deal — probably as cheap as you'll see one with the blue speakers. These speakers actually cost about £250 each new, so you're basically getting the amp for only £100 more!
Any questions just let me know. Cheers.
