Description
I’ve built up a collection of amplifiers over the years, as my needs have changed, and now it’s time to reduce this so I’ve reluctantly come to the conclusion that my TA-15 should be moved on.
According to Mesa Boogie, the TA-15 features Duo-Class and Dyna-Watt technologies providing three power and operating class options that are channel assignable via independent 5/15/25 Watt power switches. It uses 2 x EL84 and 4 x 12AX7 valves.
It has two foot-switchable channels with five different channel modes. Channel 1 is inspired by Vox and has a lower gain NORMAL and higher gain CLASSIC versions of the iconic TOP BOOST sound, which includes a pull master volume on the cut control that can be hard bypassed if required or, as Mesa Boogie puts it, “for purists”. Channel 2 houses three modes: a TWEED-inspired clean, a British HIGH GAIN in HI 1 and a classic BOOGIE LEAD in HI 2.
In short, an extremely versatile, seriously loud and superbly built valve amplifier. It’s in excellent condition and comes with the padded carrying case, the footswitch and lead and a mains lead . Looking around online, these are pretty rare and the asking prices I could see for UK models seem to me to be rather inflated (often over £900). I’ve tried to price this more realistically.
Thanks for looking!
