Description
This is a 2012 Fender Modern Player Telecaster Bass in the ever-popular Butterscotch Blonde finish, a bold reimagining of one of Fender’s earliest bass designs. Combining vintage-inspired styling with modern features, this instrument offers huge low-end power, excellent playability, and unmistakable stage presence.
The body is crafted from alder, keeping it resonant and well-balanced, and it’s paired with a comfortable maple neck and maple fingerboard. The standout feature is the pickup configuration: a pair of Modern Player Wide Range Precision Bass humbuckers deliver everything from deep, thundering lows to a growling, articulate edge, with independent neck and bridge volume controls plus a master tone to shape your sound. The vintage-style four-saddle bridge adds sustain and classic character, while open-gear tuners keep things solid and reliable. From smooth Motown-style thump to punchy rock grit, this Telecaster Bass covers a wide range of tones with ease.
This example is in good condition, with some oxidisation on the bridge and knobs, alongside a small split in the wood near the nut which appears to be stable. A couple of other small dings as to be expected with a decade old instrument. The Butterscotch Blonde finish has aged beautifully, with a few minor surface marks and playwear that add character without affecting playability.
It comes complete with a hard case for protection and transport. With its vintage looks, modern versatility, and powerful tonal range, the Modern Player Telecaster Bass is a fantastic choice for players looking for something a little different that still delivers classic Fender vibe.
