Description
Hi, up for sale is a 1941 Epiphone Blackstone in very good condition.
The guitar features a solid spruce top, laminated maple back and sides with flame on the maple back, ivoroid binding, rosewood fingerboard and replacement bridge, nickel tailpiece, original tortoiseshell pickguard and a set of original tuners.
Other than the bridge, the guitar is all original and has no structural issues, no cracks and all of the binding is tight to the body. Cosmetically it's pretty clean, although there are few marks on the top where a pickup was attached. There is a small hole drilled into the top about 1mm in diameter where a piezo bridge was fitted, although this is covered by the bridge. The guitar also has an end pin jack so it could have a pickup installed again.
The guitar has just had a fresh set up with a fret dress so doesn't need anything, the frets were done really well and look new. It plays and sounds fantastic with low action, it's very loud and has the typical punch and bark of Epiphones of this era, but also has a nice sweetness when playing softly, can hold its own with guitars twice the value.
Comes with non original hard case.
