Fully insulated – walls, floor, ceiling. 2 single-opening handmade windows. Wood burner made by John Snow, Windysmith, Devon, professionally installed under relevant safety standards. The top of the wood burner is flat, designed for cooking. Removable steps and tow bar included. Built-in double bed and mattress, with a large area below for storage or room for a child's bed.
The exterior has been freshly painted in a lightly distressed finish using Barn Weatherproof paint, giving the hut both durability and charm.
The original handmade windows are being carefully mended to preserve their character.
Interior: lightly distressed paint finish on wooden tongue and groove. Floor painted with durable floor paint. Edwardian blond pine wall cupboard and additional cupboard equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, and cutlery. Chair cushions and large bed cushions all with removable and washable covers. Folding wooden table and two chairs. Large wall mirror and smaller wall mirror. Bedside table/cupboard. Faux brass curtain rods and lined cotton curtains. Single-ring gas cooker. Two camping lights. Camping loo. Victorian enamel jug and wash basin.
The hut is light and airy in summer and very cosy, dry and warm in winter. Fully equipped for immediate living. Final stage of restoration to be completed by the end of September.
