Description
Classic (2001) Airbourne Corsair hardtail mountain bike.
The frame is 18 inch (I am 5' 11 or 180cm) 2.5V Titanium.
3 x 8 speed Shimano XT with rapid fire shifters.
Fox RCL F-Series front fork.
Hope-mini front disk brake.
Rear XTR rim brake.
Mavic Wheels
Brand new (never ridden, literally just fitted) Panaracer Fire XC Pro tyres.
Serviced by local bike shop a few years ago but only ridden a couple of times since then (hence the sale now) - I just use my road bike these days.
Extremely well used but well loved and maintained. Fantastic bike with an aviation grade titanium frame. Some scuffs and scratched transfers but the frame is in excellent condition - no paint to chip. the frame has mounting points and I have used it with rack and panniers for cycle touring, with a child seat and a 'follow-me'. The bike is a hardtail (no rear suspension) so does not have the extra weight - and has the compliance of titanium, so is comfortable over long rides.
Most components on the bike have been replaced at some point (I think the handlebar is the original).
This is a fantastic cross country bike and has served me well in Mexico Sierra Madre and Chihuahua, Morocco High Atlas, Greece, France, South Downs, Surrey Hills, camping, bike touring, commuting to work and shopping - not suitable for extreme downhill (I know I tried in Chamonix!).
Hope you get as much enjoyment from it as I have!
