1 photo just shows what they actually look like (taken from internet) they are striped and armoured with a spine spike and tail sting like a bumble bee apparently - so gloves to be used when handling, they have never attacked us they are so gently and friendly just huge in size.
both are over 12 years old
both females and are hybrids which is why they grew so large
around 8 inches long both of them
Raphael Catfish breed
we have had from 2 tiny babies
these can live well over 20 years old so it says on the internet
they are both fully grown now
eat - wafers/ flakes/catfish pellets
live with small fish - no other catfish other than these two together just incase they attack a smaller one, they currently with guppies/mollies only
they do not eat fish unless they are dead on the bottom of the tank then they will eat them
gentle giants - active in the evening and swim around a lot during the evening and at night
they are not good at seeing things - so tank to be clear from sharp objects and have lots of hide away areas and green cover area for them to hide away in.
need a fish tank - over 4 feet long and bigger really as they love to swim around they are not shy and love to swim around
so easy to look after, water to be kept like for any mollies/guppies - about 26 /28 temp water and clean the water regular for a healthy environment and regular water changes
beautiful gentle creatures just huge in size
these can live way beyond 20 years and over in a fish tank or natural pond with koi or carp
