Description

Fiat 500 1.2 Lounge 2011. Selling on behalf of my son; where he now lives parking is difficult and his partner has a car so they've decided to share, hence this is for sale (I want the space back on our drive so it's got to go!).
Bought in July 2024 from a "dealer" - what a bunch of chancers! We should've run a mile, but compared to others that in some cases had bought un-roadworthy cars, (why did we find all the dreadful reviews after we'd bought it?!) he actually got off very lightly, with a car that's been very reliable. Mentioning becomes relevant later. We bought it with a 6 month independent warranty (to give him some piece of mind) and successfully brought that into play on a couple of annoying issues (we found the washer jet pump didn’t work, the daytime running light bulbs were dud and the bolt / bracket mount to the battery had snapped) - all fixed. As I said, we felt we’d purchased a pretty decent car, though the experience was hassle.
It’s listed as a Category N when he bought it (I did a vehicle search at the time of purchase and have a current print out showing this). We don’t quite know what the issue was / why the insurance company decided not to fix it. It’s never been an issue.
It is a 15 year old car, so does have a few age related marks (a few stone chips, a bit of a light scuff to the near side door and rear wing) but it's generally a tidy car. The interior is in great condition; the seats were quite dirty so it's recently been for a valet and interior steam clean and it's come up a treat.
Within the last few weeks it's been to a trusted local mechanic and had the following work done;
Oil service including oil filter
New front discs and pads
An intermittent fault to the number plate lights fixed (apparently a common issue on these}
An intermittent fault to the tailgate lock fixed (again, a common issue)
An issue with the fuel filler neck rectified
The number plate was on the car when we bought it, and though it's been valued at £600 by a private number plate dealer, we can't be bothered to sell it separately or put it on retention, so it comes with the car
The bad bits:
The "Blue and Me function has never worked.This means the bluetooth function doesn't work and the odometer display on the instrument cluster flashes. We've looked into it and the module can be sent off & repaired (someone offers the service on here) - it's never been a major issue for my son - the radio and cd player both work
The alloys are all a bit scuffed - not awful, they look quite bright (just being honest).
Due to the rogue traders it was purchased from, the promised service history and the second key never materialized. We got a genuine Fiat folding remote key made (so it has a remote central locking key & a service key) but it only has service history in our ownership. We were also told that it had 5 previous owners but when the V5c arrived it had 7. That said, it's been a reliable, comfortable car that's never let my son down. It's a great starter and runner and would make an ideal learner / first car.
MOT until 30/6/26. The mileage at 67,000 stacks up with the previous MOTs
