Description

I started my career in estate agency in 1984 for a firm of Charted Surveyors, firstly as a part-time negotiator when my children were small before becoming a full-time negotiator for several years. My career took me to work for one of the largest independent agencies in Yorkshire, where I gained a wealth of experience and became a Branch Manager/Valuer/Mortgage consultant (Yes, those were the days when you did it all!).

In 1990 I went on to run my own estate agency, initially my work was predominantly sales and financial services, due to a downturn in the housing market I trained in lettings and property management and built up a substantial portfolio of landlords and properties to run alongside the sales department. I continued to run my own business until 2016 and decided to sell my business to another independent estate agent, where I continued to work for a further two years.

During my time in the profession I have seen many changes in the industry, some good and some not so good. The biggest change was the internet, and I must be honest I never thought it would take off but boy did it prove me wrong!

It opened a new world to estate agency, allowing properties for sale and let to be viewed nationally and beyond, and it was the development of the industry online that brought me to my next chapter. In May 2018 I opened Just Right Properties, an online sales, letting and property management business, and this is where I am today.
