Hello Students and Parents/Guardians,

My name is Rhys, I’m a history and English tutor with a First-Class BA History degree and over 2 years experience as a self-employed teacher covering a wide range of UK exam boards.

Having previously completed my BA History course from the University of Leeds and subsequently worked as a paralegal, I'm now a tutor of History and English to students looking to improve their academic outcomes as well as their enjoyment of the subjects.

As a tutor, I use essay planning and writing practice (along with clear, specific feedback), content quizzes and essay skills sessions to improve both assessed work and general understanding.

History isn’t just a profession to me, it's also my passion. Occasionally, I create content on my World of History and Food channel (linked below) where I share interesting historical places and stories. In keeping with this, I try not only to develop my students' academic confidence but also their interest in the subject by recommending podcasts, archival primary sources, artwork, videos, films and TV shows relevant to their field of study. While by no means mandatory, these are aimed at bringing the historical contexts to life.

After losing confidence in a subject I really enjoyed, Rhys massively helped to address my worries and alleviate anxiety at such a stressful time. Each session was extremely organised and tailored to my individual learning needs.
