Your new companyYou will be joining an established Tier 1 civil engineering contractor operating within the highways industry. This multi-accredited and high-profile contractor has been appointed to deliver a major, long-term highways project in Didcot (including dual carriageway, new bridges and viaduct) on top of their already healthy orderbook, and they offer excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Their commitment to delivering an exceptional standard of work has positioned them as a leader in the industry, and due to continued success, they are actively seeking a Section Engineer to join their team.

Your new roleAs Section Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Managing and mentoring a team of site engineersProviding technical support and guidance to site workers and site engineersRegularly checking and monitoring setting out compliance with site engineersCompiling and reviewing work package plans and other management plansReporting and resolving any on-site issues or conflict promptly and effectivelyEnsuring all H&S procedures are being complied withMonitoring and reporting on contractual requirements and progressManaging site documentation and maintaining accurate recordsLiaising with local authorities and regulatory bodies as requiredEnsuring quality control and adhering to project specificationsParticipating in project meetings and providing updates on section progress. What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful, you must have:

Demonstrable experience in a similar role, ideally within the highways industryExperience managing one site or a section of a larger site as part of a wider teamBasic knowledge of NEC contractsUnderstanding of duties and responsibilities with regard to current H&S/CDM legislationSMSTS and First Aid at WorkFull UK driving licence.
