Description
Freelance Quantity Surveyor (AQS / QS / SQS)
Location: Central York 3 days per week on site
Duration: 6 months, with potential to extend
Employer: Tier 1 Civil Engineering Contractor
Day Rate: Inside IR35
AQS: GBP250 GBP350 per day
QS: GBP400 GBP500 per day
SQS: GBP525 GBP600 per day
The Project This role is based on a city centre railway station upgrade in York a complex, high-profile scheme with more phases expected to follow.
Due to a recent restructure, a gap has appeared in the commercial team. They re looking for someone to step in on a freelance basis to provide support. The preference is for a Quantity Surveyor, but they re open to strong AQS or SQS candidates as well.
The Role You ll work closely with the existing commercial team, helping to keep the project moving smoothly on the cost and contract side.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Managing and supporting subcontract accounts
Handling change management both upstream and downstream
Day-to-day contract administration (NEC / Network Rail)
Supporting with CVR reporting and data collation
General commercial support across civils and rail works
What You ll Need Strong knowledge of NEC and Network Rail contracts
Experience working on civils or rail projects
Flexible and proactive approach, confident working as part of a Tier 1 team
