Description

Quality Engineer

To ensure that procured and manufactured goods fully meet the required specifications, promoting high standards of quality that drive productivity and reinforce the company's reputation for supplying precision-manufactured components.

To actively support the company's Nuclear Culture, assist manufacturing operations, and ensure that quality systems across the organisation are robust, effective, and aligned with the delivery of quality goods and services.

Quality Engineer's Key Responsibilities

Inspection of incoming goodsMachine shop inspectionFabrication inspectionWelding inspectionAssembly inspectionProduction of full dimensional reportsRaising and resolving NCRs, concession requests, and production permitsManagement of calibration systems and equipmentConducting factory acceptance testsMetrology activitiesPerforming internal quality auditsCompleting customer pre-qualification documentsQuality Engineer's Health and Safety

Daily shop floor safety inspectionsMaintenance of COSHH recordsMaintenance of risk assessmentsPreparation of production permits and RAMSControl and allocation of PPEActing as a trained first aiderQuality Engineer's Skills & Experience

Minimum of three years' experience in a similar role and environmentSound knowledge of BS 8888:2020 Technical Product Specification (all sections preferred), including the ability to read technical drawings and interpret welding symbolsPractical experience with relevant inspection equipment, such as:Surface roughness testerCNC CMM, Faro Arm, Faro Laser or equivalentQualified BS EN ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor; Lead Auditor qualification preferredQuality Engineer's Educational Qualifications

Minimum: NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or ONC/OND in Mechanical or Production EngineeringPreferred: NVQ/SVQ Level 4 or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Production EngineeringQualification in dimensional metrologyQuality Engineer's Professional Qualifications (Preferred)

NEBOSH General CertificateTechIOSH statusCQI Practitioner or CQI MemberQuality Engineer's Benefits and Hours of Work
