Project Engineer – Perm Installs/Stage Performance

Description

Our client is a long established provider of building technology systems into a variety of markets and have a multi–skilled team providing technologies ranging from audio visual systems, smart building technology, workplace management systems, security, stage technology and performance sound and lighting systems.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for the technical systems design, detailed engineering and commissioning of AV and Stage/Performance Systems as part of the Project Division.

This role may be based in London, central Birmingham, Oldham or be home–based but will also include travelling to customer sites throughout the UK, Europe and possibly worldwide.

Main responsibilties

System designs for AV stage/performance area systemsSupervision of CAD resources and checking of drawings for accuracy and completenessProduction of detailed systems designs, cabling layouts, rack layouts, cable schedules, panel layouts, panel wiring drawings, site integration details etc.Liaison with sales team to ensure correct equipment specifications – both pre– and post–sale.Liaison with client technical, management and operational staff to ensure their requirements are met.Co–ordination of designs with other trades and contractors – attendance at site meetingsWorking closely with the Divisional Director(s), Project Managers, engineers & site teams to facilitate a seamless design and commissioning functionAssistance with project documentation such as O & M manualsLiaising with the technical team to confirm technical product specificationsFactory testing and configuration of AV, smart building, stage/performance systems including lighting systems, security systems, building control systems, audio DSP, paging systems, video switching and distribution, control systems and amplifiers.Site–based commissioning of AV, smart building and Stage/Performance systems – including working extended/unsocial hours on occasion to meet project deadlines.Attendance at project meetings.Assisting with developing and maintaining design standards.
