Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Machinist to step into a rewarding training-focused role.

This position is ideal for a hands-on professional with CNC milling and lathe experience who is passionate about developing others and helping to shape the next generation of engineers. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality technical training to apprentices within a modern training school environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Apprentice Team Leader, you will:

Deliver high-quality training in CNC and manual machining, including milling, turning, and surface grindingTeach CNC programming and machine operation across a variety of materials and techniquesSupport apprentices in developing strong engineering foundations and practical skillsPromote and enforce health, safety, and good working practicesEnsure apprentices understand engineering drawings, specifications, and processesStep in to cover leadership responsibilities during the Team Leader's absenceContribute to the development of future training programmes (e.g. metrology, technical drawing interpretation)What We're Looking For

Industrial experience in CNC milling and turning (essential)Experience programming and operating CNC machines and lathesNVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) apprenticeship in engineeringAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentationStrong communication skills with a passion for mentoring and developing othersWell-organised, methodical, and detail-oriented approachA patient, approachable, and motivating attitudePrevious training or coaching experience is not essential.
