Description

Job Role: Engineering Manager

Location: Coventry

Shift: Permanent / Monday - Friday

Salary: c. 75,000 p/a

The Role:

The Engineering Manager will lead the engineering function, overseeing the design, development, and delivery of precision engineering solutions. This role requires a technically strong leader who can drive innovation, ensure manufacturing excellence, and support continuous improvement across all engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team, providing mentorship, technical direction, and performance management.Oversee the design, development, and validation of precision-engineered components and systems.Collaborate closely with production, quality, and commercial teams to ensure engineering projects meet customer requirements, timelines, and budgets.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and capability within the engineering department.Manage engineering change processes and maintain accurate documentation and CAD models.Support NPI and process development activities.Provide technical leadership in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.Prepare and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in precision engineering or high-tolerance manufacturing environments.Proven track record in engineering leadership or management roles.Strong understanding of CNC machining, tooling design, and manufacturing processes.Experience with CAD/CAM systemsExperience to drive productivity and CIExcellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
