Electrical Surveyor (PV Systems)

Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Surveyor (Solar PV) to join our team.

As an Electrical Surveyor (Solar PV) you will be primarily responsible for conducting site surveys in domestic properties to assess the feasibility of solar PV installations, designing systems that meet technical and regulatory standards, and collaborating with installation teams to ensure successful project delivery. Secondary duties include surveying for high heat retention storage heaters and performing heat loss calculations. Key tasks involve data collection, system design, customer and client liaison, technical reporting, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and industry standards. The role also includes staying updated on industry trends and occasionally supporting installation and commissioning activities.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised with strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working both independently and collaboratively. You should possess excellent problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and a high level of product knowledge. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is also essential.

You should have a solid understanding of electrical principles, construction codes, and building structures, particularly roof types. Technical knowledge of solar and battery storage systems is essential. Relevant qualifications include NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), 18th Edition BS7671, ECS Health & Safety, and a full UK driving licence. Additional desirable certifications include Inspection & Testing (2391/2394/2395), Solar PV Installation & Maintenance, Electrical Energy Storage Systems, JIB Gold Card, AM2, and Health & Safety Management.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm, but does require some flexibility to work some evenings and weekends if required to support a 24/7/365 Operational Business.
