Goods Inwards Inspector

Salary £27,000

Location: Rogerstone, Newport NP 10 (On-site)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Goods Inwards Inspector to join our Quality team in Newport. This is a hands-on role ensuring that all incoming components and products meet industry, customer, and internal standards. If you have a sharp eye for detail, a proactive mindset, and a passion for quality, this could be the ideal next step in your career.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect incoming components and products against ERP, industry, and customer requirements.

Perform basic dimensional checks using measuring equipment.

Verify traceability documentation and product shelf life.

Check chemicals for compliance, certification, and expiry dates.

Use electronic measurement equipment to assess compliance with drawings.

Raise and maintain quality documentation and defect reports.

Liaise with purchasing to process non-conforming products.

Work to tight deadlines to support production flow.

Maintain defect databases and conduct “first-off” inspections.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above).

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Solid interpersonal and relationship-building ability.

Good understanding of electrical and mechanical components.

Excellent attention to detail and numeracy.

Proactive approach to problem-solving.

Desirable:

Experience in electronic manufacturing or a quality inspection role.

PCB inspection qualification.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
