These striking geometric triangle earrings are handcrafted in authentic traditional Chinese Diancui style, one of China’s most elegant intangible cultural heritage arts. Traditional Diancui originally used kingfisher feathers, but as kingfishers are protected wild animals, no kingfisher materials are used in this piece at all. Instead, I carefully select naturally shed peacock feathers as a completely ethical, sustainable alternative. All feathers are professionally cleaned and disinfected before production, ensuring they are safe and hygienic for daily wear. The feathers are arranged in a layered, geometric pattern to create the classic deep teal-blue tones Diancui is known for, catching the light beautifully with subtle variations in shade. The main frame is made of high colour-retention alloy that resists oxidation, keeping the design bright and polished over time, while the ear posts are crafted from genuine S925 sterling silver, making them hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive ears.
