Glory DVD (2000) Matthew Broderick, Zwick (DIR) cert 15
BRAND NEW -SEALED

In Boston a weathered memorial honors a young Civil War Colonel (Matthew Broderick) and his regiment. He was white; they were black. In one gallant rush they made history. On July 18, 1863, on a stretch of beach near Charleston, South Carolina, the 54th Regiment of Massachesetts Volunteer Infantry began its bloody assault on a nearly impregnable Confederate fort. The black enlisted men were fighting not just for victory but for respect and freedom. Their heroic actions undermined Northern opposition to having blacks in arms and helped throw open the gates of the Union Army to 180,000 blacks who, by risking their own lives in the war, laid claim to emancipation and citizenship for themselves and their children.
