Description
Not a mark or scratch in sight, always cased and dry stored.
The chrome is superb (like new) apart for the 16’s legs.
The only room big enough for me to set up has awful light, but I tried my best and the wrap is not only 100%, but identical in all (apart from the 16).
The Renown features the classic 7-ply Gretsch formula maple shells, with 30-degree bearing edges and exclusive “Silver Sealer” interiors.
PLEASE read all as there was some slight confusion when I posted this on the Gretsch forum recently.
The 16” floor is from a slightly older kit and the wrap is a tickle darker.
SO, I bought two kits a few years ago (both 2nd hand), one a little newer than the other.
One was with a 22” BD and other 20”…..
The earlier kit had Die-Cast hoops and the newer the 302 (same hoops as used on the Brooklyn and Broadkaster series), and I painstakingly experimented with the best combination.
The 16 was the only 16 and the 13 I bought new (from Thomann) about a year ago, so they weren’t interchangeable.
The 10 is 302 / DC the 12 the same and the 13 + 14 are both 302 top and bottom. The 16 is DC top and bottom.
The badges are repro BUT the kit comes with all the original too. I LOVE the look of these…they’re really good quality (metal) badges (costing over £200 in total for all).
The sale includes the tom arms and holder plus tom legs (+ memory locks all round). Not the cymbal stand for the 10” though as am still using that.
I’ve a mixture of clear Ambassador’s, EC2’s and G2’s currently ...again, I spent a while getting what worked for me.
The BD is a PS3 clear. The kit sounds HUGE and I can send some files of a gig I did recently to show!
NONE of the kit is a re-wrap (as accused on one of the forums!! – don’t ya just sometimes love the internet?).
