Clearance: UK Eyes Only – Sole UK Nationals, Security Cleared or Eligible for Security Clearance

Industry: Aerospace & Defence

Contract Length: 12 months

IR35 Status: Outside IR35

Rate: £40–£50 per hour (depending on experience)

We are looking for two highly skilled Stress Engineers / Analysts to join a leading Aerospace & Defence engineering team in Huddersfield.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on exciting, high-profile projects spanning the full product lifecycle – from design and development through to production and customer support.

The Role

As a Stress Engineer / Analyst, you will carry out detailed stress and structural analyses to ensure all designs meet required safety, integrity, and performance standards. You’ll be involved in design reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

*

Perform stress and structural analyses using both hand calculations and finite element analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, MSC NASTRAN, Altair HyperMesh).

*

Plan and execute tasks to meet project timelines, budgets, and KPI targets.

*

Attend PDR and DDR reviews, presenting detailed technical reports.

*

Provide engineering solutions for complex problems under challenging timescales.

*

Conduct investigations into non-conformance issues, including root cause and failure mode analysis.

*

Monitor corrective actions to ensure timely completion and effectiveness.

*

Document and report analysis results, investigations, and recommendations accurately.

Skills & Experience Required

*

Proficiency in stress analysis software (ideally ANSYS) and conventional hand calculation techniques.

*

Experience analysing complex engineering structures and mechanical assemblies (e.g., heavy industry, power transmission systems, gears, gearboxes).

*

Strong understanding of numerical finite element techniques for static analysis.

*

Knowledge of aerospace and defence industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).

*

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.

*

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Security Requirements

Due to the nature of the projects, these positions are open to sole UK nationals only. Applicants must already hold Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain it.

Why Apply?

*

Join a team working on cutting-edge aerospace and defence programmes.

*

Play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and quality of mission-critical systems.

*

Competitive £40–£50 per hour, Outside IR35.

*

12-month contract with potential extension.

If you are a detail-driven professional with a passion for engineering excellence, we would like to hear from you.
