Description

R&D Technician – Motorsport / Performance Engineering

Location: Northamptonshire

Contract: 3-6 months (Rolling)

Status: Outside IR35

Rate: £38 – £42 per hour

Join a World-Class Motorsport Organisation Driving Performance Innovation We’re currently supporting a high-level motorsport and performance engineering business as they seek an experienced R&D Technician. This role offers a chance to contribute to cutting-edge development projects that feed into elite-level motorsport applications, including Formula One technology.

You'll play a key part in testing and validating critical components, ensuring performance, reliability, and innovation remain at the forefront of every project.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out validation and compliance checks on key components

Deliver high-quality turnaround and test activities with minimal oversight

Build and manage R&D test setups, including sensor installations, data logging, and analysis

Operate test equipment and associated software safely and effectively

Capture and document test data and integrate it into internal systems

Collaborate with engineers across the business to meet project goals

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and efficiency in the R&D workshop

Manage your workload to support team deadlines and departmental tasks

What You’ll Bring:

Strong background in motorsport or high-performance engineering environments

Deep understanding of automotive components and their impact on reliability and performance

Practical experience with structural, durability, and fatigue testing

Familiarity with PLM systems, Microsoft Excel/Word, ATLAS, System Monitor, and data logging tools

A methodical and analytical approach to problem-solving

Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant technical field

Proactive attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills
