An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced MOT Tester / MOT Technician to join an established automotive business in Cockermouth. Alongside carrying out MOT testing, you'll also support with tyre fitting, so we're looking for someone who is confident working across both areas.

The Role

As an MOT Tester, you'll be responsible for carrying out MOT tests to the required standards while ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant and maintained to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

·Carrying out MOT tests using appropriate measuring and diagnostic equipment

·Completing accurate vehicle health checks

·Identifying and reporting faults and areas requiring attention

·Recording additional work and communicating findings to the Workshop Controller or Service Manager

·Completing job cards accurately, including hours worked and materials used

·Carrying out tyre fitting and related workshop duties when required

·Ensuring vehicles meet required safety standards before being returned to customers

·Maintaining high standards of vehicle care and protection

·Keeping the workshop clean, safe and organised

About You

We're looking for an experienced and reliable MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician who takes pride in delivering high standards of workmanship.

You'll ideally have:

·A valid MOT Tester Licence xjnqpsq

·Previous experience within an automotive workshop or dealership environment

·Experience carrying out vehicle inspections and health checks

·Tyre fitting experience or a willingness to undertake tyre-related duties

·Strong attention to detail

·Good communication and customer service skills

·The ability to work independently and as part of a team

·A professional approach to health, safety and vehicle standards
