Description
We are recruiting an experienced Assistant Service Manager to join our busy automotive dealership in Gillingham, Kent. This Assistant Service Manager opportunity offers an excellent platform for an experienced aftersales professional to support our Aftersales Manager, lead the Front of House team and enhance customer satisfaction.
Benefits:
£35,000 basic salary with an OTE of £40,000

30 days’ holiday, including bank holidays, with additional entitlement for length of service
Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:30, with one in four Saturdays and a day off in lieu

As Assistant Service Manager, support the Aftersales Manager with daily service department operations and deputise during their absence
Take ownership of the Front of House operation and ensure an efficient service reception
Lead, supervise and support the service team
Manage customer enquiries, vehicle bookings, service updates and vehicle handovers
Advise customers on additional work identified through electronic vehicle health checks and video inspections
Resolve customer concerns and complaints promptly and professionally
Coordinate courtesy vehicles, including mileage and damage checks
Ensure quotations, charges and invoices are accurately recorded
Monitor work in progress and support efficient job completion
Work closely with our Sales and Service teams to improve retention, performance and profitability
Maintain company procedures, GDPR compliance and accurate customer recordsRequirements:
Previous experience in an automotive service or aftersales environment
Experience as an Assistant Service Manager, Senior Service Advisor, Workshop Controller or in a similar supervisory role
Franchised dealership experience would be advantageous
Excellent customer service, communication and team leadership skills
Strong organisation and workload prioritisation abilities
A proactive approach to resolving customer concerns
The ability to work effectively under pressure
Good knowledge of dealership service department processes
Warranty procedure knowledge would be advantageous
