Description
Featuring a hinged lid on an octagonal top decorated with brass banding. the lock and key are functioning. The inner compartment is lined with aged lead originally to hold ice and bottles securely. The top cooler lidded compartment is raised on a separate platform with three square tapered legs, ending in brass casters for mobility. Original examples of these pieces were normally crafted in England around the early 19th century, approximately circa 1790–1800. This is a replica.
Measures 72 cm high x 50 cm wide (with handles).
The hexagonal side to side dimension is 40 cm.
