Description
An ultra-high-net-worth household in Knightsbridge is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Laundress to oversee the care and preservation of an extensive collection of couture garments, fine fabrics, and luxury textiles. This is a senior position within the household, offering full responsibility for the laundry department.
Location: Knightsbridge, London
Hours: 45 hours per week, across five days (9 hours per day)
Travel: 4–6 weeks per year, typically in two-week periods (destinations include Sardinia and Switzerland)
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum (DOE)
Key Responsibilities:
Expert care of couture, cashmere, silk, wool, and other delicate high-value garments
Skilled in handwashing, stain removal, steaming, pressing, and long-term garment storage
Operation of professional-grade laundry equipment
Performing minor repairs and alterations, including hems, seams, and button work
Maintenance of shoes and leather goods to the highest standard
Wardrobe management, including organisation, cataloguing, and seasonal rotations
Maintaining exceptional levels of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
Candidate Profile:
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a laundress in a UHNW or luxury household
Proven expertise in handling couture and delicate garments
High level of organisation and ability to work autonomously
Impeccable standards of confidentiality, discretion, and service
