Live-out Houseman/Caretaker req near Henley, £45k+ gpa, ASAP start

Description

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Live-out Houseman/Caretaker to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of a private estate, including all associated buildings, courtyards and outdoor areas. The role also involves driving duties and dog care. A strong understanding of household systems, good organisational skills, and a flexible approach are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance of entrances, terraces, estate offices, and garages. They will manage logs and fireplaces, assist with basic repairs, monitor lighting and guttering and ensure outdoor areas such as the barn, playground and garden furniture are clean and in good order.

Additional duties include assisting with events, working with the gardening team when needed and supporting contractors. The role involves caring for the family’s dogs (feeding, walking, vet visits) and may require obtaining a firearms licence for shoot days.

Driving responsibilities include running errands, airport transfers, transporting family and staff (including to/from London) and overseeing general maintenance and presentation of estate vehicles.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence

• Previous experience in a similar role

• Good knowledge of general maintenance

• Flexible and discreet

• Animal friendly; willing to assist with dog care

• Firearms licence (or willingness to obtain) is an advantage

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm (1-hour lunch break). Occasional weekend work may be required, with time off in lieu.

Salary negotiable from £45k+ gross pa depending on experience.
