Conan is a loving, affectionate 8-month-old greyhound who enjoys walks, playing catch and tug, and being close to his people. He is up to date with immunisations, flea and worm treatments and is a healthy.

As you can see from the photos, he is very much a family dog. Unfortunately, the other dogs in our household do not cope well with him. Jessi, our 16-year-old Shih Tzu has doggy dementia and has lost the ability to read cues, making her very intolerant and reactive.

Buffy, our Chihuahua, is tiny and teases Conan; while he is gentle, he is simply too big and boisterous and could accidentally hurt them.

Conan is perfect with our two-year-old cat. They regularly share my lap and bed, and he is calm, gentle, and respectful.

Conan would thrive in a home where he can be the centre of attention, with regular walks and playtime. He is a strong boy and would suit an experienced owner familiar with the breed. He has good foundational training including sit, lay down, stay, paw, leave, wait and catch, and is generally very good around food. He can show some resource guarding with high-value treats when in his crate, so these are given separately, but there are no concerns around his regular food or water. He will happily sit, take turns and share high value treats when hand-fed alongside the other dogs and cat.

Conan is largely house trained, though he may use a mat if not let out quickly enough in the morning or if it is raining. His routine is well established and he reliably goes out after sleeping and eating.

Conan is a genuinely lovely dog, but our home setup is not right for him. He needs a calmer environment with fewer restrictions where he can fully thrive.
