Rare 18thC Dutch Polychrome Delft Plate of Prince William V and Princess Sophia
Brief Description:
This is a rare and beautiful 18th-century Dutch Polychrome Delft Charger Plate depicting a double Royal Portrait of Prince William V of Orange, together with his wife, Princess Frederica Sophia Whilhelmina.
Dating to circa 1770-1780, and probably from Amsterdam.
Painted with gorgeously bright colours including manganese, yellows, greens, reds and blues.
It is initialled:
'FSW' - Fredrica Sophia Whilhelmina
'PVOR' - Prince William of Orange
Indeed, it is a truly stunning piece to behold, and it is free from any damage or restoration.
