COFFEE SET ● MID CENTURY ● RETRO ● KITSCH ● 1950s ● 1960s
Crossgates, West Yorkshire
£20
Description
6 piece retro/kitsch mid century china coffee set.
The set comprises of :
6 coffee cups
6 saucers
1 coffee pot
1 milk jug
1 sugar bowl
Very cool if you're trying to create that 50s kitsch look.
I think this was a wedding gift to my parents who were married in 1962.
I'm not sure if it was new when they got it so it could date back to the 1950s?
I've never seen it in use.
It's spent virtually It's entire life in a box in a cupboard.
The coffee cups are tiny. To get an idea of scale, compare their size to the coke can.
The only issue I saw when cleaning it is a crack in the glaze (not the pot) to the left of the yellow stylized flower on the coffee pot which is barely noticeable (I almost missed it myself)
I think you'd struggle to find a coffee set as cool as this in one piece and if you bought it from a retro shop, I think you'd be paying more than twice as much as I'm asking.
Would make a great interior design statement piece to put on display and wow your guests!
